2014 School Profile – Prophetstown Prophets

2014-15 enrollment: 272 2013-14 enrollment: 295 Difference: -23

Boys sports: Basketball, golf

Girls sports: Basketball, golf

Classes: Two class – A; Three class – 1A; Four class – 1A

Looking back: While Prophetstown co-ops with Erie in most sports, it made the most noise on its own. Don Robinson guided the Prophets to the 2A state tournament for the first time in his 37 seasons at the helm. The Prophets fell just one game short of the state title. It was the team’s first year in 2A, after playing in 1A since the IHSA switched to four classes. The boys basketball team finished strong down the stretch for a 14-14 record, and tied for third in the Three Rivers North.

Looking ahead: The Prophets girls basketball team graduates four players from the roster, but returns the bulk of the impact players like Corrie Reiley and Clare Kramer. The Prophets also return to 1A this season, and will likely be considered heavy favorites for a state title. The boys team loses starters like Ethan Howard and Chris Bauer, which could mean another slow start. But the Prophets have won at least 14 games in each of the last three seasons.
