ROCK FALLS – Roy O. Henning, 65, of Rock Falls, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at his home. He was employed as a mental health technician at Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon for 33 years.

Roy was born Nov. 15, 1948, in Kewanee, the son of Owen and Peggy (Schmittler) Henning. He married Deborah Olson on June 27, 1971, in Rock Falls. He served in the Army.

Survivors include his wife of Rock Falls; one daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Halverson of DeKalb; one son, Brock (Jeanette) Henning of Sterling; two sisters, Linda (Dave) Spencer of Stover, Missouri, and Marie (Fred) Garza of Sterling; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Larry Henning.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Borton, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

A memorial has been established.
