MORRISON – A 25-year-old Rock Falls man who fired shots into an apartment in Sterling on Nov. 15 was sentenced Tuesday to 5 years in prison.
Zachary A. Wade must serve at least 85 percent of the term for aggravated discharge of a firearm, or 4 years and 3 months. He was given credit for 227 days served.
Wade pleaded guilty April 29 to aggravated discharge of a firearm. A charge of possession of a firearm without a FOID card, also a felony, was dismissed.
According to police, Wade fired two shots into an apartment in the 2000 block of Third Avenue; he was arrested a few blocks away. There were no injuries.
