DIXON – A Dixon man was in Lee County Jail on Tuesday after being arrested the day before on a months-old Lee County warrant for a sex abuse charge.

Edward R. Batt Jr., 29, was charged in November 2013 with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, after which he fled the state, according to a news release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.

Court documents say that in either 2010 or 2011, when he was over 18, he sexually abused a girl at least 5 years younger than him.

This is his first felony charge in Lee County.

He was in jail Tuesday on a $25,000 bond.
