FULTON – Two Rock Falls residents were injured in a single-car accident early Sunday, according to a news release from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department.

Billy R. Mills, 27, and passenger Lynn M. Boles, 29, were driving on state Route 84 outside Fulton when the car began to slide on the wet road, the release said. The car then slid into a ditch before striking a tree on the driver’s side of the car, then spinning again to strike another tree on the passenger’s side of the car, police reported.

The two were removed from the car and taken to a Clinton hospital before being transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital, according to a representative at Clinton’s Mercy Medical Center.

Their conditions were unavailable Monday afternoon.
