STERLING – A Sterling man injured a week ago during a home invasion has been released from the hospital.

Police found the occupant, whose name is not being released, seriously injured. He was taken to CGH Medical Center, then flown to OSF Saint Anthony Hospital in Peoria, they said in a news release.

No arrests have been made in that incident, which happened just after noon June 24 in the 1300 block of Griswold Avenue, or in another home invasion that happened just 2 days earlier in the 300 block of Seventh Avenue.

In that invasion, police say, some people knocked on the door and, when it was opened, forced their way inside, and a fight ensued. A man and a teenage boy inside the home were taken to CGH Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Police have said that the two invasions appear unrelated.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact Sterling Police at tipline@sterling-il.gov or 815-632-6640, or Whiteside County Crime Stoppers, 815-625-7867.
