That was the last time that Rochelle played in the same division as Sterling, Ottawa and LaSalle-Peru. At that point, the teams formed the NCIC Northeast. In the 1981 season, Rochelle and Geneseo traded places, as the Hubs moved to the NCIC Southwest and Geneseo moved up to the Northeast.

That was the last season that Rochelle played in the NCIC Lincoln. Rochelle left for the the newly formed Western Sun Conference. Teams from the Western Sun and NCIC Reagan (formerly Northeast) merged to form the Northern Illinois Big 12 in 2010.

That's the minimum number of teams a conference division can have in order for the conference champion to receive an automatic bid into playoffs. The NIB-12 West gets a 1-year waiver for this season on this rule, but will need to add a team in 2015-16.

That's the number of teams that the NIB-12 lost at the end of the 2013-14 school year. Dixon moved to the Big Northern Conference, and Streator went to the Interstate Eight.

That's how many times the Sterling Golden Warriors have played Metamora. Sterling has won the last two meetings in 2005 and 2013. Metamora won the first three meetings, the first two coming in the playoffs in 1995 and 1999.

That's how many more students that Sterling's Week 2 opponent, Whitney Young, has enrolled for the 2014-15 school year than Sterling. Whitney Young has an enrollment of 1,957.

That's how many consecutive seasons Sterling had made the playoffs before missing out last season. Sterling still has had 12 consecutive seasons with a winning record.

That's how many 5-4 teams didn't make the playoffs in 2013. Sterling was the first to miss the cutoff with 35 opponents' wins and 12 defeated opponents' wins.

That's how many NIB-12 West teams have an all-time winning record against Geneseo. Sterling has won 26 of 48 meetings. Rochelle has won 26 of 51 meetings. The Hubs and Maple Leafs tied once in 1973.

That's how many state trophies the Geneseo Maple Leafs have after placing second in 4A in 2013. The Maple Leafs won 3A trophies in 1976, 1977 and 1978, and won the 4A title in 1982. They have placed six times.

That's the last time the Geneseo Maples Leafs had a sub-.500 record for the season.
