Bernice Schoenholz

PAW PAW – Bernice Hansen Schoenholz, 95, of Paw Paw, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at her home.

She was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Rochelle, the daughter of Pete and Inger (Larsen) Hansen. She was united in marriage to Howard Schoenholz on June 30, 1937, in Rochelle.

Bernice was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Church Women’s Committee, and Lee County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Howard; three children, Nancy Larimore, Dorothy (Bob) Arjes, and Howard (Barb) Jr.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Blee of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald; one brother; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Torman Funeral Home, 510 Flagg St., Paw Paw. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Paw Paw United Methodist Church, 370 Wiley Ave. The Rev. Chungnam Kwak will officiate. Interment will follow at Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw.
