Wadsworth to open First Fridays

Tom Wadsworth of Dixon, portraying Thomas Jefferson, will re-enact the 1776 reading of the Declaration of Independence to open the First Fridays open stage music show at 7 p.m. July 5 at Oregon VFW Post 8739, 1310 W. Washington St.

OREGON – First Fridays’ traditional Fourth of July recognition show, featuring Tom Wadsworth of Dixon portraying Thomas Jefferson, will be at 7 p.m. July 5 at the Oregon VFW Post 8739, 1310 W. Washington St.

Wadsworth again will re-enact the 1776 reading of the Declaration of Independence. Following the reading of the historic document, the First Fridays musicians will take the stage, with each musician or band playing for 15 minutes.

The music played at the monthly event includes country, bluegrass, blues, folk, gospel, soft rock, and eclectic mixes of all of the above, according to a news release. 

Instruments are all acoustic, and a professional sound system is supplied.  

Admission is a free-will donation.
