Silent auction to help shelter

ROCK FALLS – The Rock River Valley Area Woman’s Connection will meet July 16 at the Candlelight, 2200 First Ave.

This gathering is the group’s annual “Little Pig’s Market” luncheon and program. A silent auction of baked goods and garden produce will raise money for the Twin Cities PADS Homeless Shelter in Sterling. Those who plan to bring an item to be auctioned are asked to have it there by 10:30 a.m.

The bidding will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will follow at 11:30. The cost is $10.

Mattea Bianchi of Rock Falls will provide the music. Sherry Gary of New Carlisle, Indiana, will speak on “Surviving the Winds of Life and Still Laughing.”

Reservations are due by 9 p.m. July 14; call Irene at 815-948-2107. Cancellations are appreciated.
