State error led to erroneous charges

Because of a computer error originating in the Illinois Secretary of State’s office, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department incorrectly cited Tonja M. Mennen, 44, of Mount Morris, and that information was published in the June 5 Community Watch. In fact, Mennen was not driving on a suspended license, according to a letter from the Secretary of State’s office, and she also was able to provide proof of insurance.
