Published: Thursday, June 12, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

BYRON – Does your dog have what it takes to steal the show in the “Wizard of Oz” production at Byron Civic Theatre?

Auditions for Toto will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 23 at the Byron Middle School Theatre, 850 N. Colfax St.

All dogs are welcome and encouraged to attend the auditions. Directors Joe Coots and Delaney Egan, along with others from the production staff, will be on hand for the auditions.

No stage experience is necessary, as on-stage training will be available. The dog cast as Toto will need to be available for all performances and some practices. For more information, email info@bctmagic.com.

“Wizard of Oz”  opens the Byron Civic Theatre’s 20th season on July 25. Performances continue on July 26 and 27 and August 1-3.  Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets go on sale July 10 for season members and contributors, and July 14 for the public.
