Ogle County Sheriff

Sherryl Roberts, 47, of Rochelle; Sunday on state Route 38; domestic battery; taken to Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Norman Heiden, 52, of Dixon; 6:49 p.m. Sunday on East Flagg Road; driving while license suspended, operating uninsured motor vehicle; issued citation, taken to Ogle County Jail, and held in lieu of bond.

Driver injured in one-vehicle crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Gallup, New Mexico, man was injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 39.

Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the scene at midnight Sunday. An investigation revealed that William Bloch, 60, was northbound in his Ford pickup truck when he fell asleep and drove off the east side of of the roadway. The truck jumped a culvert and struck an embankment, appearing to overturn at least once before coming to rest.

Bloch was taken to Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle emergency medical services personnel for non-life-threatening injuries. His condition was unavailable Monday. Bloch was issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Arrests made at drinking party

PROPHETSTOWN – Whiteside County Sheriff’s deputies and Prophetstown police made several arrests Saturday at an underage drinking party in rural Prophetstown.

Matthew Martinez, 19, of Dixon, was arrested on a charge of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Steven Schellhorn, 19, of Erie, was arrested on a charge of resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Bryton Thompson, 18, of Sterling, also was arrested on a charge of resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Nine juveniles between 15 and 16 years old were arrested on a charge of violation of curfew. Three juveniles were arrested on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor. A 16-year-old juvenile from Rock Falls was charged with improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, curfew violation, and consumption of alcohol by a minor. An investigation is ongoing.
