MVP: Chris Hebeler, Fulton, 27 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals

Recap: Hebeler made 11 of his 14 shots as the Gazette team won a wild one. Current Sterling baseball coach Nick Pepper scored 20 points for the Gazette, and Rock Falls’ Will Howard had 18. The Telegraph was led by Oregon’s Joe Danielson with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ohio’s Justin Farrell added 16. The Telegraph shot just 5-for-38 from 3-point land. Forreston’s Tyler Stocker won the 3-point contest by making 10 of 15, while Danielson won the dunk contest.

Coming this year

• The 2014 SVM All-Star Classic
will be coming from Musgrove
Fieldhouse on the campus of Sterling High School on June 19, 2014. The girls game starts at 5 p.m. The boys game will follow at 7 p.m.

Courtney Cobert was a three-sport standout at Erie in volleyball, basketball and track. She and younger sister, Rachel, led the Cards to successful seasons in all three sports.
