Classic Rewind: June 6, 2001

Too tall for Telegraph

When: Wednesday, June 6, 2001

Where: Sauk Valley Community College

Score: Gazette 101, Telegraph 90

MVP: Bryan Boerjan, Rock Falls, 18 points,
9 rebounds

Recap: The Gazette had too much size, including Boerjan, Fulton’s Eric Ottens and Bureau Valley Reuben Slock for the Telegraph to handle. The Telegraph’s only true post player was Forreston’s Andrew Garnhart, who scored 22 points. AFC’s Kyle Stumpenhorst and Dixon’s Adam Love each had 16 points. Ottens won the dunk contest, while Jared Cavanaugh (Faith Christian) won the 3-point contest.
