Woman gives birth along Chicago expressway

CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois State Police say a woman gave birth to a baby girl on the shoulder of a Chicago expressway.

Authorities say the woman delivered the baby about 2 a.m. Wednesday along the northbound Dan Ryan Expressway or Interstate 90-94 on the city's South Side. Police tell the Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/1pF28vt ) that the mother and daughter were taken to a local hospital and are both listed in good condition.

The Chicago Fire Department delivered the baby.
