Race raises funds for animal shelter

STERLING – As part of Sterling Main Street’s Dog Days celebration, Happy Tails Humane Society will host the “Run for the Paws” 2K walk/run for people and their dogs.  

The run starts at 8 a.m. June 21 at Grandon Civic Center in downtown Sterling.  

Registration begins at 7:30. The entry fee is $20, which includes a T-shirt if you register by Saturday. 

“Run for the Paws” participants are welcome to run, walk, or wag, at their own pace. Go to www.happytailsanimalshelter.org to register.

Happy Tails is located at 1408 McNeil Road in Rock Falls. The shelter is open to the public every day from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
