MVP: Jacob Jones, Amboy, 11 points, 8 rebounds

Recap: As the Chicago Bulls won their fifth title in seven seasons, Amboy’s Jones scored seven of his points in the second half to key the Blue team’s victory. Greg Clauson (Dixon) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Oregon’s Jason Hickman, who now coaches baseball at Amboy, made several keys shots in the second half. Newman’s Jamie Gisi had 15 points for the Red team. Sterling’s Jake Harms won the 3-point contest, while Clausen and Sterling’s Lucas Austin tied in the dunk contest.

Coming this year

• The 2014 SVM All-Star Classic will be coming from Musgrove Fieldhouse on the campus of Sterling High School on June 19, 2014. The girls game starts at 5 p.m. The boys game will follow at 7 p.m.

Newman’s Micah Trancoso is hoping to come back from Charleston with a big trophy, as he is a relay runner on the Comets track team.

After that, he’ll star for the Telegraph team.
