30 Classic Years – June 7, 1996

Dunk title defended

When: Friday, June 7, 1996

Where: Lancaster Gym, Dixon

Score: Blue team 96, Red team 81

MVP: Aaron Lanning (AFC) 25 points

Recap: While Lanning’s scoring and quick hands on defense keyed the Blue team’s win, it was the rebounding of Rochelle’s Jason Cross (13 boards) and Ohio’s Josh Pistole (11) and Aaron Phillips (10) that sealed the victory over a cold-shooting Red team. Sterling’s Scott Reiley led the Red team with 19 points. Pistole, the Class A dunk champ, lived up to that by winning the Classic dunk title. Rochelle’s Jared Dickey won the 3-point contest by making
10 of 15 attempts.
