ROCK FALLS – Arleta Harms, 93, of Rock Falls, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her home.

Arleta was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Glen Elder, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey and Mable (Hendricks) Nusbaum. She graduated from Glen Elder High School. Arleta married Quinten H. Harms on March 6, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. He died Jan. 7, 2004. She enjoyed bowling. She was a school bus driver. She was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary, and a volunteer with CGH Auxiliary and the Welcome Wagon.  

Survivors include two daughters, Marilynn Mayer of Oregon and Julie (Tim Holland) Schmitt of Dixon; two sons, Doug (Cheryl) Harms of Rock Falls and Kevin (Debbie) Harms of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Joyce Baker of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Paul (Pat) Nusbaum of Dixon; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, four sisters, and two grandsons.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Private family burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
