30 Classic Years – June, 10, 1994

Classic streak ends

Date: Friday, June 10, 1994

Location: Lancaster Gym, Dixon

Score: Red team 102, Blue team 101

MVP: Corey Duncan, Sterling, 21 points, 7 rebounds

Recap: Perhaps the greatest winning streak in Classic history came to a close, as Lloyd Johnson’s record dropped to 6-1 with the Blue team’s loss. It didn’t come without dramatics, as the Blue squad made a comeback, and Oregon’s Ian McDonald drained a 3-pointer over Sterling’s Abe Olson at the buzzer to pull within a point. Olson won the dunk contest, while AFC’s Jeremy Alborn won the 3-point contest. The Red team was coached by Sterling assistants Bruce Seiler, Dean Martinetti and Jim Preston.
