1 hurt Tuesday inOgle County crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Byron woman received minor injuries Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash at Hoisington and Oak Grove roads.

According to Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies, a Lincoln driven by Shannon Englert, 27, of Leaf River, failed to stop at the intersection on eastbound Oak Grove Road. Englert’s vehicle struck a Hyundai, driven by Allison Branter, 19, of Byron, headed south on Hoisington Road.

Branter was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where her condition was unavailable Wednesday. Englert was issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection, and given a notice to appear in court.

Rochelle woman injured in crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Rochelle woman refused medical treatment Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash at state Route 64 and Lynnville Road.

State troopers responded to the scene at 11:21 a.m. An investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Dawn M. Miller, 49, was westbound on Route 64 when Miller was distracted by an animal inside her vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway, striking a ditch culvert at Lynnville Road. Miller was issued a citation for improper lane usage.
