Organizers preparing for annual festival

POLO – Polo Town and Country Day is offering a Mega Pass for the carnival rides during the 2014 festival.

The Mega Pass is $40, is good for use on all rides and can be used throughout the festival June 12-15.

The passes will go on sale May 27 at First State Bank, Knie Appliance, and Burkhardt’s Gas, and the sales will stop at noon Thursday, June 12.

No other tickets or armbands will be sold in advance. Armbands will be sold at the ticket booth at the carnival and will be $20 per day Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the festival.

The festival begins at 9:30 p.m. June 12 with a fireworks display. Locals are welcome to bring lawnchairs and blankets and set up shop on the high school football field. The high school track team will host concessions.

The festival will continue with Kid’s Day on Friday, Country Line Live that night, and Dwyer & Michaels on Saturday. The Grand Parade and Porta Potty races will be on Sunday. There will be free entertainment for all ages all weekend.

There will again be a dunk tank, running from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, and from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
