Artists, craftsmen and flea market dealers sought in Mendota

MENDOTA – The Crafters Market Place and Flea Market will again be featured Aug. 9 and 10 at Mendota’s annual Sweet Corn Festival. The event will be held in Veteran’s Park on U.S. Route 34, in the Mendota Elks Club parking lot on Indiana Avenue, and on Jefferson Street.

Artists, craftsmen and flea market dealers from around the Midwest are expected to fill more than 200 spaces at this year’s event. Reserved spaces for the show are available, and applications are being accepted.

Spaces are approximately 10-by-10 feet and are $70 for the weekend.

The hours are set from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. There are also 1-day spaces available for Saturday at $35 per space.

No food will be served in the craft and flea market areas. The event is open to the public at no charge.

The entire festival will begin at 6 p.m. Aug 7 and run through the evening of Aug. 10.
