Man drowns when boat capsizes

COLCHESTER (AP) – A western Illinois man has drowned after the boat he was in capsized on Argyle Lake.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that an autopsy found 22-year-old Derrick Hull of Golden died from drowning. The accident happened Tuesday afternoon. McDonough County Coroner Eric Jamison says Hull’s body was recovered and he was pronounced dead early Wednesday.

A second man in the boat was able to swim to safety.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is investigating the drowning.

Argyle Lake is north of the city of Colchester in McDonough County.
