Blues artists to perform at bar and grill

ROCK ISLAND – The Mississippi Valley Blues Society will present Blind Pig recording artists Peter Karp, Sue Foley and their band at 6 p.m. Sunday at On the Rock Bar and Grill, 4619 34th St.

Admission is $8, or $5 for MVBS members.

According to a news release: A singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist and American troubadour, Peter Karp is a master songsmith with an art for spinning true-to-life emotions, humor, and candor. He first caught national attention with help from Rolling Stone guitarist Mick Taylor, who recorded and toured with Karp on his first label release, “The Turning Point.”

Foley is an accomplished blues and roots artist. According to the release, her first release, “Young Girl Blues,” quickly established her unique talents as a blues guitarist and songwriter. She has taken the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Lucinda Williams and Tom Petty.
