1 injured Friday in Ogle County crash

OREGON – A Forreston woman received minor injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash at Baileyville and Montague roads.

According to a news release from the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department, a three-wheeled Terra-Gator liquid tanker farm implement driven by Theodore Perkins, 44, of Forreston, was eastbound on Montague Road when Perkins failed to yield at the intersection and struck a Lincoln Towncar driven by Marcella Ruter, 77, of Forreston.

Ruter was taken to FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, where her condition was unavailable Monday. Perkins was issued a citation for failure to yield.

West Chicago man hurt in crash

ALBANY – A West Chicago man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Saturday at state Route 84 and Park Avenue.

State troopers responded to the scene at 2:50 p.m. Saturday Their investigation revealed that a car driven by Nicholas A. Hand, 32, of Decatur, was southbound on Route 84 when a car driven by Korey J. Volz, 28, of West Chicago, slowed to make a left turn. Hand’s vehicle failed to yield and struck the rear of Volz’s car.

A passenger in Volz’s vehicle, Eric Montanez, 26, of West Chicago, was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa, by Erie ambulance. Hand was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

One hurt Sunday in Ogle County crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Machesney Park woman was injured Sunday in a two-vehicle crash at Tower and East Oak Grove roads.

State police responded to the scene at 7:26 p.m. An investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Gregory C. Molander, 58, of Leaf River, was eastbound on East Oak Grove Road when Molander failed to stop at the intersection with Tower Road. His vehicle struck a car headed north on Tower Road, driven by Joyce M. Bain, 40.

Bain was taken to SwedishAmerican Health System in Rockford by Byron ambulance. Her condition was unavailable Monday. Molander was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign.
