CW cancels three freshman series

LOS ANGELES – It looks like tomorrow won’t come for “The Tomorrow People” on the CW. The network has canceled the freshman drama, along with “Star-Crossed” and “The Carrie Diaries.”

“The Tomorrow People,” a remake of the ‘60s sci-fi drama about a group of paranormal humans fighting for survival, struggled to impress on the ratings front, despite the first half of its season benefiting from an “Arrow” lead-in. The series from executive producers Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”) and Greg Berlanti (“Arrow”), averaged a 0.6 in the 18-49 demo and 1.5 million total viewers.

The series was moved to Mondays the second half of its run, paired with “Star-Crossed.” The lovestruck story about a group of aliens integrating with humans whimpered in the ratings with a 0.3 rating in the young adults demo.

Meanwhile, sophomore teen soap “The Carrie Diaries” didn’t quite make the fashionable entrance CW might have liked.
