Riverfront and downtown need wireless access

On May 7, I helped some out-of-town visitors down by our riverfront who were trying to access the Wi-Fi, only to find out that we don't have access to any signal except to some bleed-over from other local businesses.

So when I approached the Main Street organization and the city, I was told that they are trying to get a public system for the downtown area. But a company called T6, which is using our city towers, has reneged on a promise to supply us with coverage.

So I suggest the city cut ties with T6 and spend the $20,000 or so to get Wi-Fi down to the riverfront before all the summer activities start. It would be a plus for our visitors and the people of Dixon.
