SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Lorna B. Peterson, 93, of Scottsdale, died Friday, April 4, 2014. She worked at Tresa Lee Beauty Salon and Scottsdale House Beauty Salon, both in Scottsdale.

Lorna was born June 14, 1920, in Morrison, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Beswick) Hammer. She married Willis W. Peterson on Aug. 26, 1945, in Morrison. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1991. She was a former member of Morrison United Methodist Church, and a member of North Phoenix Baptist Church.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Joyce Ott, John Richard Boland, Diane Rick, Debby Makarius, David Rick, Dawn Holt, and Sandra Burleson; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Marjorie Boland, Averil Parker, Faith Hammer, and Sarah Rick; one brother, Millard Hammer; and one nephew.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morrison United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Morrison United Methodist Church.
