Thanks to everyone who bought a Teen Turf drawdown ticket. We are all sold out. This is a quick reminder for those who bought tickets earlier. Please remember that it will be Saturday.
For those who don't know about Teen Turf, we have a “free” after-school homework help program, and a summer program for children from preschool and older.
We have chair and high-intensity aerobics four times per week. We have dances and fun nights to give our kids a place to go that is safe.
We host many athletic registrations and end-of-the-year parties. There have been many birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions, and family holiday celebrations.
Last summer, our kids, fifth-grade and older, gave more than 2,000 hours to help our community. Our goal is to help our kids learn to be givers and lovers of their communities.
The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday with the drawdown to follow. The $1, $5, and $10 50/50s, and the silent auction, will go on throughout the night.
All the awesome auction items are from the hard work of the Dean and Sue Stephenitch family and donations from the community.
This fundraiser, the United Way of Lee County, and all the donations from so many in our community and from many miles away are what keep Teen Turf up and running. We receive no state or federal monies, so we are deeply grateful for those who help us.
Again, I thank you and pray for blessings on everyone and their families.
