Donald E. Dusing

MOUNT MORRIS – Donald E. Dusing, 91, of Mount Morris, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Mount Morris.

Don was born May 1, 1923, in Grand Detour, the son of Winfred & Lora (Wells) Dusing. Don graduated from Polo High School in 1941. Don married Jean L. Dusing on Sept. 26, 1944, in Mount Morris; she preceded him in death on March 18, 2011. He worked as an estimator in Kable Printing Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1986. Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the board, was a member of Mount Morris Lions Club, and he was a Mason. 

Don is survived by his son, Michael (Mary Jo) Dusing of Byron; daughter Julie (David C.) Sweeney of Lena; eight grandchildren, Kraig Sweeney of Lewistown, Mon., Michelle (Ken) Bechtold of Freeport; Marci Loven of Stillman Valley, Chad (Melissa) Sweeney of Friendship, Wis., Dianna (Seth) Newton of Byron, Danielle (Tchevy) Olson of Stacy, Minn., David (Cortnee) Dusing of Byron, and Matthew (Noel) Dusing of Mount Morris; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Don also was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Albert; and sisters Edna Grossnickle and Marjorie Bomberger.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Morris, with the Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Morris. 

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and/or Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.

Finch Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
