A parade of antique cars

DIXON – Members of the Rock-Ford Model A Club will make their way to the doorstep of the Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon beginning at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. About 25 antique cars are expected to line up South Hennepin and the home's parking lot. Before Dixon, they'll go through Polo and White Pines State Park.

Fun with mom and son

STERLING – Boys ages 3 to 13 can take their mothers on a date from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today for the "My Son Rocks! Mommy-Son Date Night" at Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road.

The event will include dinner, projects, dancing, games and a special story. Tuition is up to $30 for mother and son. Call 815-626-4278 for more information.

Taking charge of open mic

Local musicians are welcome to perform at 4 p.m. every Sunday at Charlie’s Bar and Grill, 123 W. Market St. in Mount Carroll. Karaoke more your thing? Party with the James Gang from 8 p.m. to midnight tonight at the Dixon VFW, 1560 Franklin Grove Road, or from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Roadhouse, 807 S. Seventh St., Oregon.

Solo artist and Derby Divas

ROCK FALLS – Justin Morrissey will play from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. tonight at The Cooler, 311 W. Second St. The Midwest Derby Divas will be guest bartending from 8 to 10 p.m. Find the Justin Morrissey or The Cooler on Facebook for more information.

First Fridays in Oregon

OREGON – First Fridays Open Stage Music Show returns to the Oregon VFW. The music is varied and includes country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, folk, soft rock and eclectic mixes of all of the above. All musicians and spectators are welcome. Every musician or band performs for up to 15 minutes.
