Donald O. Eckburg

GOLDEN, Colo. – Donald O. Eckburg, 83, of Golden, formerly of Amboy, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at his home.

He was born June 21, 1930, in Amboy, the son of Oliver N. and Myrtle E. Eckburg. He worked in insurance sales with Woodmen Accident & Life Insurance Co.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia E. Eckburg of Golden; son, Jeffrey D. Eckburg; daughter, Dawn M. (Michael) DeMicco of Golden; brother, Richard Eckburg of Savannah, Ga.; a grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack Eckburg, Doris Thompson, Midge Ramsey, and Blair Eckburg; daughter, Michelle M. Eckburg; and son, Todd E. Eckburg.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 1500 Ford St., Golden. A reception will follow at Mount Vernon Event Center, 17173 Mount Vernon Road, Golden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golden Lions Club, P.O. Box 192 Golden, CO 80402, or the chapel at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.
