ROCHELLE – Police are looking for a 23-year-old Rochelle man accused of shooting an 18-year-old late Friday in an apparent gang-related argument.

According to a release this afternoon from Rochelle police, officers were called to 322 S. Main St. around 11 p.m., where three to four shots were heard after "an argument between individuals involved in gang activity."

A teen younger than 18 was shot in the leg; he was taken to a Rockford hospital, treated and released, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued today for Michael A. Maise Jr., charging him with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon as a felon. Bond is set at $500,000.

According to Ogle County Court records, Maise was sentenced in November 2011 to 4 years probation for a June 8, 2010 burglary. He was arrested three times for failure to appear in that case, most recently on April 14, when he was issued a $1,000 recognizance bond and released.

Anyone with information on Maise is asked to call the Rochelle Police Department, 815-562-2131, or Ogle-Lee Crime Stoppers, 888-228-4488.
