STERLING – Beverly J. Albrecht, 77, of Sterling, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was an elementary school teacher.
She was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Dixon, to Harold and Grace (Tracy) Foster. Beverly married Marvin B. Albrecht on Aug.13, 1960, in Dixon. She was a graduate of Manchester College, and earned her master’s degree in special education at Northern Illinois University. She was a longtime member of Rock Falls United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. She also taught in Sterling and Mendota school districts, at the YMCA preschool, and at Sinnissippi Mental Health.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two sons, Bradley (Jennifer Kelly) Albrecht of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Brent (Laura) Albrecht of West Chicago; one daughter, Kimberly (Leonard) Schluns of Pearland, Texas; one sister, Carolyn (Raymond) Morgret, and one brother, Roger Foster, both of California; one sister-in-law, Ruth Hunsberger, of Sterling; and seven grandchildren, Kyle and Nathan Schluns, and Spencer, Samantha, Sydney, Adam, and Allison Albrecht.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie Reuter; and three brothers, Norman, Edward, and Francis Foster.
Her funeral was held Saturday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling; the Rev. Richard Fassig, pastor of Rock Falls United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling.
