Florence A. Hieronimus

ADELINE – Florence A. Wetzell Hieronimus, 98, of Adeline, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Transitions Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rock Falls.

She was born March 10, 1916, the daughter of James Franklin and Halana (Meier) Borland in Adeline. She attended Adeline schools and graduated from Polo High School in 1933.

Florence was a homemaker. She married Earl Wetzell on Sept. 19, 1954. He died Sept. 27, 1973. She married Freemont Wetzell on April 8, 1975. He died in March 1996. She married Cornelius Hieronimus on Oct. 5, 1996. He died Dec. 22, 2010. Florence was a lifelong member of Adeline Zion Evangelical Church, where she was the church organist for more than 40 years. She enjoyed music.

Survivors include two sons, Jim (Karen) Wetzell and Jon (Ivernia) Wetzell, both of Sterling; two stepdaughters, Janet (Rich) Peterson of Pecatonica and Vesta (Lyle) Clark of Davis; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Joyce Truedson.

Viistation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Adeline Zion Evangelical Church. Burial will be at Adeline Cemetery. Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Adeline Church.
