2014 Illinois State Fair theme 'Making Memories'

SPRINGFIELD (AP) — The theme of this summer's Illinois State Fair is "Making Memories."

Organizers on Tuesday also announced at the state fairgrounds in Springfield that hip-hop artist Pitbull is scheduled to perform on Saturday, Aug. 9.

The musical cast of Million Dollar Quartet also will give a free concert. The performance is based on music stars Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash will be Monday, Aug. 11.

Musical artists including Florida Georgia Line, Boston, Steely Dan, and Jake Owen already are scheduled to perform.

State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick says the admission fees for fair-goers will remain the same as the past few years.

The state fair is Aug. 7 to 17.
