Police investigate downtown Sterling tire slashings

STERLING – The tires of about 20 cars were slashed over the weekend in the downtown area, police said Monday.

The incidents occurred between 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, according to a Sterling police news release. They happened in the 300 to 500 blocks of Locust Street, 800 block of First Avenue, 600 block of Fourth Avenue, and 500 block of Fifth Avenue.
