Egg hunt in Dixon

DIXON – Walmart and the Dixon Park District present an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wooden Wonderland and the soccer fields at Meadows Park, on Washington Avenue. There will be prizes. Attendees should bring a basket or bag. The hunts start at 1 p.m. for kids 2 and younger, and continues with staggered starts every 10 minutes up to the 11- and 12-year-olds at 1:50 p.m. The rain date is April 26.

More egg hunts in region

Sauk Valley communities having egg hunts this Easter weekend include:

• Tampico, at 10 a.m. Friday in Booth Park.

• Morrison, at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kiwanis Park, west of the former high school baseball field on North Genesee Street.

• Mount Morris, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dillehay Park, at the south end of Ogle Avenue and along Stengel Drive.

EGGstravaganza in Sterling

STERLING – Free EGGstravaganza Easter activities will be Saturday at Sterling First Church of the Nazarene, 411 13th Ave. Children 12 and younger and their families can attend. There will be shows at 10 and 11 a.m. and noon in the church sanctuary. After the shows, hunts will take place for eggs filled with candy and prizes in various parts of the church.

Put some hip hop in your step

DIXON – The old school hip-hop tribute band Too White Crew will play tonight at Historic Dixon Theatre, 114 S. Galena Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Morrison-based rock band 30 West will open at 7 p.m. Val's Place will provide bar service, and there will be a concessions stand. Tickets are $15 in advance at www.dixontheatre.com or $20 at the door.

Be blue in the Grove

FRANKLIN GROVE – It's Blues and Bluegrass night today at the H.I. Lincoln Building, 136 N. Elm St. Open stage acoustic gospel, folk, country, blues and bluegrass will be performed, starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free; donations are accepted to help with the upkeep of the historic building.
