STERLING – Judith L. Shipman, 67, of Sterling, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at her home. She was employed by Aramark Food Services.

She was born July 12, 1946, in Sterling, to Russell and Helen (Wilkinson) Helms. She married Steve Shipman on Feb. 20, 1965, in Sterling. She was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. 

Survivors include her husband, Steve; one son, Stacy (Laurie) Shipman of Rock Falls; one daughter, Shelley (Barry) Montague of Dubuque, Iowa; one brother, Kenneth Helms,of Kansas; her grandchildren, Heather Yeager, Hannah (Joe) Grove, Nolan Montague, and Blake and Brittney Shipman; her great-grandchild, Arlow Grove; and her nephew, Ryan Helms. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to New Life Lutheran Church.
