Ralph Perino

ROCK FALLS – Ralph Perino, 93, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home.

He was born April 14, 1920, in Normandy, the son of Ralph and Catherine (Carchidi) Perino. He married the former Gloria Marshall. Ralph farmed for many years. He was involved in establishing the Whiteside County Airport, and in its development. An avid aviator, he earned his pilot’s license in 1935, and enjoyed flying for more than 50 years. Ralph was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; his sons, Gordon Perino of Chicago, Dean (Kim) Perino of Deer Grove, and Patrick (Amy) Perino of Sioux Falls, S.D.; his daughters, Corrine (Michael) Francis of Deer Grove and Michelle Perino of Eugene, Ore.; his brothers, Michael Perino of Quincy and John Perino of Florida; his sisters, Connie Dominquez of San Jose, Calif., Dolorosa Bender of Dana Point, Calif., and Elizabeth Beelendorf of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and five brothers.

Visitation will from 3 to 5 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 708 10th Ave., Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian of Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with Monsignor Gerald Kobbeman, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Tampico. McDonald Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St Andrew Parish Hall Building Fund.
