Rights discussion regarding housing

STERLING – A free seminar on fair housing for people with disabilities will be from 10 a.m. to noon April 29 at Sterling Federal Bank, 110 E. Fourth St.

The topics will include the rights people under the act, what information they need to know, and how to report fraud and abuse. Northwestern Illinois Center for Independent Living is the program sponsor

Kimberly Nevels, Chicago Fair Housing Equal Opportunity Center director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will be the main presenter. Margaret Swanson, manager of Sterling Towers, also will speak about the dynamics of Sterling Towers, the application process, and unit availability.
