Sickened by decisions made by our judiciary

Published: Saturday, April 12, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

Am I the only person in the Sauk Valley area who thinks our judicial system is going down the toilet?

I read in the paper that a man left a dog caged in a basement, with no food or water, and the dog supposedly starved to death. This act was uncalled for, and the person responsible could face 1 to 3 years in prison, which he should serve if found guilty.

Then there was another article about a Dixon man who molested a 13-year-old relative, and got 4 years’ probation. Then there was the man in Nevada who molested a 14-year-old girl more than 100 times over the past 10 years, and he got off scott free.

Then there was the man in Maryland who molested his 3-year-old daughter, and he got off because the judge said, “He probably wouldn’t survive in prison.”

Who cares?

What’s wrong with this picture?

I can’t believe our judicial system is this backward.

I am sickened by the way this country is being run now, and if we don’t stand up for our rights, and the rights of our loved ones, we are all doomed. We had better wake up and start making changes now, before it’s too late.
