New board members named

Sterling Federal Bank has announced the appointment of Dean Ahlers of Sterling to its board of directors. He has been with the bank since 2007, having been named president and CEO in January 2013.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Iowa State University, graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He resides in Sterling.

Ahlers announced the appointment of Reed A. Hutchcraft of Mount Carroll as vice president and chief lending officer.

Hutchcraft has more than 30 years of lending experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in ag business from Western Illinois University and a diploma from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Robert L. Rosengren of Rock Falls also was appointed to the bank’s board of directors.

He is president of Rosengren Farms Inc. and Green Rose Farms Inc.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois .

Sterling Federal Bank is a federal mutual savings bank with 10 offices located in northwestern Illinois and eastern Iowa.

It has served the community since it was chartered in 1885.
