DIXON – Extra seats were brought in for a packed crowd at the University of Illinois Extension Cattle Feeders Meeting March 5 at Sauk Valley Community College.

More than 50 participants heard from University of Illinois educators and field experts on topics ranging from recent policy changes to market opportunities.

Speakers included individuals from the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Livestock Development Group, Frank & West Environmental Engineers, as well as professors from Iowa State University, the University of Minnesota and the University of Illinois.

Evaluations were positive, with the majority of participants indicating a change or desire to change strategies/practices in the future.

There were several suggestions for future programs, including a statement to keep bringing good speakers to the area.
