Katelynn Pankhurst fr. sprints

Hannah Pinter fr. throws

Brenna Rieker fr. mid-distance

Outlook: The numbers are up in Amboy, but 70 percent of the athletes are underclassmen, meaning experience will be at a premium. As the Three Rivers cross country champions this past fall, the distance events will be the team strength. School record holders Laura Rieker (high jump) and Shiela Browning (triple jump) anchor the field events, and look for the Clippers' relays to improve throughout the season.

Bureau Valley Storm

Coach: Dale Donner (30th season)

2013: Fourth at 14-team 1A Erie Sectional

Helena Arnadottir sr. jumps, mid-distance

Katelin Johnson sr. mid-distance

Outlook: As always, the Storm have good numbers and talent. Led by returning state qualifiers Lindsey Hoffert (200, long jump), Regan Weidner (3,200) and Sydney Lebahn (discus), experience will be a big plus. The distance events will be BV's bread and butter, but the field events will be solid as well.

Erie-Prophetstown Panthers

Coach: Don Robinson (37th season)

2013: Won 14-team 1A Erie Sectional

Rebecca Arnolts sr. mid-distance

Allisa DeShane fr. pole vault, sprints

Chance Johnson fr. distance

Courtney Kruthoff fr. high jump, sprints

Maddie Purvis fr. sprints

Avery Simester fr. sprints, long jump

Aly Wetzell fr. sprints, long jump

Outlook: Fresh off the program's second-ever runner-up state finish, the Panthers return a loaded team with lots of experience, and the potential to be a factor again at the 1A state meet. The loss of Paige Rus to graduation – and little sister Peyton to an ACL injury – is a bit of a blow, but there isn't a spot on the track or in the field where EP won't be competitive.

Fulton Steamers

Coach: Tim Wessels (2nd season)

2013: Eighth at 14-team 1A Erie Sectional

Jaime Kammerer sr. throws

Marla Stocker sr. throws

Rebecca Winkel sr. 800, relays

Isabel Borgman jr. sprints, relays

Breanna Eissens jr. hurdles, relays

Autumn Hutton jr. throws

Chelsea Lesniewski jr. shot put, relays

Brandi Pessman jr. long jump, 400 relay

Allison Griebel so. long jump, 400

Roane Hand so. throws, relays

Averi Leitzen so. distance, relays

Betsy Leonard so. hurdles, high jump, relays

Jana Michels so. sprints

Hannah Pannell so. sprints, relays

Amber Maze fr. long jump, 400, 1,600 relay

Maryssa McCunn fr. sprints, relays

Allie Olsen fr. jumps, relays

Lilly Othon fr. sprints

Jordan Price fr. distance, relays

Outlook: Averi Leitzen was Fulton's lone state qualifier a year ago, and she returns hoping to have some friends tag along this year. The Steamers fill out every niche quite nicely, and PRs should come fast and furious as the season goes along, making the team competitive at every meet.

Morrison Fillies

Coach: Rory Coghlan (1st season)

2013: 10th at 14-team 1A Erie Sectional

Hannah Blacklock sr. hurdles

Katelynne Busch sr. mid-distance

Robbie Jackson sr. throws

Rebecca Johnson sr. sprints, jumps

Brandi Hosford sr. sprints, jumps

Kristi McNeece sr. distance, jumps

Hannah Rillie sr. throws

Allie Lyons so. mid-distance

Ariana Olalde so. sprints

Kendra Zuidema so. sprints

Aubrey Bush fr. sprints, long jump

Kassidee Church fr. hurdles, long jump

Lilian Maxfield fr. sprints

Michaela McNeece fr. distance

Courtney Stearns fr. distance

Maya Zinke fr. distance

Outlook: The Fillies return a state qualifier in Lakin Goodman, and she hopes her experience last year will rub off on her teammates. Several familiar faces dot the Morrison roster, and the infusion of some younger talent means the arrow is pointed up for the Fillies.

Newman Comets

Coach: Brandon Kreczmer (1st season)

2013: No score at 14-team 1A Erie Sectional

Hathaipat Arayangkul jr. jumps

Erin Allen jr. sprints

Rachel Humphreys jr. throws

Samantha Jones jr. throws

Linnea Larson jr. throws

Kyla Lehrke jr. throws

Paige Ruthart jr. sprints

Haley Simpson jr. distance

Hillary Grennan so. sprints

Katie Collins fr. jumps

Mary Jensen fr. sprints

Teagan McKenna fr. sprints, distance

Kate Ryan fr. sprints

Kelsey Simpson fr. sprints

Outlook: Numbers are once again an issue for the Comets, but look for them to make the most of the athletes they do have. Without a senior on the roster, Newman will look to load up on experience this season and keep building for the future.
