Wildflowers focus of walk, seminar

DIXON – Naturalist Greg Hunter of the Dixon Park District will lead a spring wildflower identification seminar and hike at the Ruth Edwards Nature Center in Lowell Park, 2114 Lowell Park Road.

The seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday is for a maximum of 10 adults. The cost is $5.

Among the topics to be covered are ethics, photography, and alternative uses for the flowers. Each person will be given a Lowell Park wildflower identification guide to take home.

Participants are asked to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and sturdy shoes. They should bring rain gear; cameras and binoculars are welcome.

To register, call 815-288-5209 and leave a message with the name, phone number, number of people, and the program.

The money will be collected the day of the seminar.
