Sauk Valley Community College hosted its 30th annual children's fair Saturday. Booths opened in the morning before the "Seussational Event" featured a performance of Dr. Seuss' "The Cat in the Hat" in the gym. The event was free, open to the public, and its mission is to promote children's health and family-well-being.

This year's installment featured the University of Illinois extension's farm fun petting zoo, bounce houses, emergency vehicles, and more than 40 exhibitors who offered hands-on activities, games and giveaways. According to www.svcc.edue, the fair attracts more than 2,000 participants every year.
