Sterling store to offer discounted pet clinic

STERLING – Happy Tails Humane Society will sponsor a wellness clinic for limited-income pet owners from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19 at Pet Supplies Plus in Northland Mall, 2900 E. Lincolnway.

Pet owners will need to provide proof of program enrollment and a photo identification card.

Immunizations, tests, and microchipping will be available at a reduced cost to those enrolled in a public assistance program. Dogs must be current on rabies vaccinations. Rabies vaccinations will be provided by Advanced Animal Health Center for a reduced fee that does not include the cost of county tags from Whiteside County Animal Control. The pet will need to be examined before the vaccination. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the shelter at 815-626-2994.

Happy Tails Humane Society, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is a limited-intake, no-kill facility that shelters and cares for stray and abandoned dogs and cats until they are adopted into permanent homes. The shelter is 1408 McNeil Road in Rock Falls. The hours are 8 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday and 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
