Sterling store to offer discounted pet clinic

STERLING – Happy Tails Humane Society will sponsor a wellness clinic for limited-income pet owners from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19 at Pet Supplies Plus in Northland Mall, 2900 E. Lincolnway.

Pet owners will need to provide proof of program enrollment and a photo identification card.

Immunizations, tests, and microchipping will be available at a reduced cost to those enrolled in a public assistance program. Dogs must be current on rabies vaccinations. Rabies vaccinations will be provided by Advanced Animal Health Center for a reduced fee that does not include the cost of county tags from Whiteside County Animal Control. The pet will need to be examined before the vaccination. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the shelter at 815-626-2994.

The clinic is part of Happy Tails’ Pets for Life Program, which provides community outreach to pets and owners. Go to happtailanimalshelter.org for more information on other programs, including the Microchip Safety Net, Food Pantry, and Reduced-Cost Spay and Neuter programs.
